Buachaille Etive Mòr

Camping trip above Glen Coe

A friend and I were up Ben Cruachan and decided it would be a good evening for a summit camp. Having left our camping gear in the car, we decided to drive to Glen Coe after our walk, where would climb up to Buachaille Etive Mor and camp there. The next morning we were rewarded with an amazing sunrise.

Having started climbing at 09:00 pm, we reached the summit at 10:30 where we had a good sunset view through Glen Coe towards Loch Linnhe and beyond to the peaks of Ardgour

We camped up at the top of Coire na Tulaich, with great views towards the Mamores and Ben Nevis

The light in the morning over Rannoch Moor was magical. A very early start was had as the sun rises at 04:15 this time of year, but it was well worth the short night

The first rays of sunlight hit Stob Coire Sgreamhach and Bidean nam Bian

Nothing quite beat the view over Rannoch Moor though

Sunlight now filling Glen Coe

The sun now properly up, reflecting in Blackwater Reservoir
